Enjoy the glorious spring weather and join us next Sunday 13th of April for a hike commencing at the Cedars Nature Reserve of Tannourine. We will be accompanied by our local guide, a Cedars Reserve ranger, who will take us along a section of the LMT - the hiking trails here, in the terrain of the mountains, are easy for all.

The reserve, one of the largest and densest Cedars forest in Lebanon, is rich in biodiversity-over 600 plant species have so far been recorded in the reserve, along with different mammals and around 80 spices of birds and 52 species of butterflies and moths. During the hike we will spot flowers particular to this high altitude terrain, like the Mountain Tulip or Lebanese Prickly Thrift - we may even spot a Wild Boar!

The mountainous landscape, with cedars growing on the cliffs  is impressive and you will enjoy the opportunity to discover rock-cut and natural grottos . Along the way we will pass the green valley of Wadi Ain Al-Raha along trails which offer panoramic views of the area renowned for agriculture, with a focus on apples and vines.

After working up an appetite, we will take our lunch at the end of the hike prepared by local community with seasonal produce - homemade salad, loubié moukadadé,  Horrok osbao, jam or fruit.

After lunch on the way back we will stop to visit Mar Chalita church and the Grotto of Balaa'.

08h30: Departure to Tannourine region.
19h00: Estimated arrival at Beirut.
Price per person: 35 US$ (12-16 persons) / 27US$ (17-25 persons)

Price Includes: Transportation, tour leader, local guide, lunch & insurance.
Does not include: Breakfast & entrance fees for the reserve

Recommended attire: Trekking shoes, hat, sun block, warm jacket, backpack, water, sun glasses, small plastic trash bag & identity card.

Participants are kindly invited to follow the instructions: not walk ahead of the guide & follow the itinerary.
