The weather this Sunday is expected to be 20 degrees partly cloudy with some sunshine! So a great day for a hike!
Join us to hike from the village of Aamiq, Bekaa, 900m to the Barouk Mountain Reserve (this is not to be confused with the Cedar forest )
This hike is moderate and affords wonderful views over the Bekaa plain.
Expect to discover :
- Incredible Oak and Pine tree forests
- Traces of Roman temple ruins and adjacent cave graves.
- the Deir Tahnich village and ancient ruins of Aamiq village
On arrival in the Bekaa we will make a stop to buy supplies for our picnic to support the local community. Our hike will take around 4 1/2 hours ; be sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and a windproof jacket.
ABOUT CYCLAMEN: Our philosophy is to increase awareness of Lebanon's natural and cultural heritage through non-profit activities which include hikes and treks in rural regions. We always aim to hire local guides for the hikes and encourage visitors to purchase food locally. This quarter we have donated to the Red Cross as well as a food program for needy families.
