Join Cyclamen for the National Snowshoeing day event Sunday February 10th
What a snowy week it's been. Lebanon's mountains have loads of fresh new snow, so now is the time to go snowshoeing again - or for the first time! The good news is that anyone who can walk can go snowshoeing, but it is helpful to be with a guide to direct you along the way - anyway snowshoeing is much more fun in a group!
Departure (no waiting for late arrivals) at 8.25 a.m from outdoor car park Sodeco Square (usual meeting place opp. Virgin may be closed that day)
Stopover on the way at "La Maison du Ski" to hire snowshoes and then on to Qanat Bakish. We will commence snowshoeing passing beautiful scenery in a region known for it's natural resources.
We will have a late lunch at Auberge Beity Kfardebian - home cooked Lebanese meal prepared by the wonderful proprietor Josephine : a warming soup, "plat du jour' and salad.
Auberge Beity is within the DHIAFEE program which provides support for small family-owned lodgings, in rural areas, supports responsible tourism and works to increase economic opportunities in rural communities. (www.dhiafeeprogram.org)
Cyclamen is committed to support sustainable tourism to benefit the local rural community and we are coordinating with Auberge Beity to arrange an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast for $25. For this you will have to register early though to guarantee availability.
