Labor Day is all about hiking and tourism in Lebanon – we will show you the beauty of our nature and its cultural wealth.
*The first part of our event will begin with a 3h hike in one of the deepest and most beautiful valleys in Lebanon, known by Wadi Qannoubin and located in the Northern part of Lebanon- The valley is scattered with caves, chapels, hermitages and monasteries cut from rock.
We will start our trail from the top of Haouqa village and going down the valley, where we will be visiting one of the monks on our way, St. Marina convent.
*As part of the new Adventures in Lebanon strategy of health and weight watching, we will be having a healthy picnic lunch next to the river, catered by KCATERIES (your lunch box will include calculated energetic menu based on calories)-
*The third part of the event will be about discovering the first printing press in the Middle East, located in Qozhaya Monastery- This Monastery was founded in the year 745 AD on the slopes of the valley of Qannoubin and it was restored in 1283 AD. It had been the first Maronite school in 1624-The first printed text that we possess is The Book of Psalms, which can actually be found at the Library of the University of the Holy Spirit at Kaslik. It dates back to 1610. The printing press has Syriac characters. Several liturgical and religious books have been printed in the Monastery

Wadi Qannoubin hiking trip is Level 2 (moderate to advanced hike)
Meeting point will be in Fuad Chehab stadium in Jounieh at 8:00 am.
There will be a stop along the way for water supply.
Bring with you a light jacket to keep you warm, a cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, and wear hiking or comfortable walking shoes. You would also need to get some light snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits.
Weather is expected to be mostly sunny and humid
