March 8th is International Women's Day - so let's celebrate Lebanon's women!

In 1977, the UN General Assembly proclaimed a United Nations Day  - International Women's Day - to be observed on any day of the year in accordance with their historical and national traditions. Since then, the United Nations Organization has observed March 8th as International Women's Day.This year, International Women's Day will be marked by Cyclamen with a trip to the women's cooperative of Aita Al Fokhar - Bekaa on Sunday March 9 celebrating the achievements of women in the rural regions.

The trip to Aita Al Fokhar includes: 

- Visit roman temple at Al Manara or Old name Hamara.

- Visit the Women cooperative of Aita Al Fokhar + introduction

- Hike up to the hill for Maqam Al Khoder + panoramic view (hike for 45min/1houre)

- Lunch at Women cooperative.
 
This Sunday, give your usual eating place in the city a miss and support Lebanon's rural kitchens.

- Due to popular request we are also organizing a snowshoeing trip to the North (Tannourine Cedars forest) this Saturday March 8.

- Gathering Time & Place:  08h15, Beirut city center car park, opposite Virgin megastore.

- Departure time: 08h30, to Tannourine.

- Price per person: 10-14 persons, 25US$ / 15-19 persons, 20US$   / 20-25 persons, 15US$

- Includes: Transportation, tour leader, entrance fees & insurance.

- Does not include: rental equipment (snowshoes), Breakfast & lunch (feel free to bring your own picnic lunch)
